Non-generic post

I haven't posted anything in forever. This is basically a status update post. Things have been crazy at work lately, and all signs point to continued craziness until mid July at least. As a result, I find myself continuously violating the #1 rule of maintaining a popular blog: post often.

On the personal side, not much has changed. I've discovered that Molson Kick is a great beer for my lifestyle. Being the irresponsible child I am, I often find myself dead tired when an opportunity for appropriate beer-drinking presents itself. For those of you who don't know, Molson Kick has Guarana in it, allowing me to stay alert as I get drunk.

On the gaming side, I started playing Metal Gear Solid 3 afew weeks ago. I gotta admit the game shows much promise. What's great about the MGS series are the colorful bosses. The "interactive movie" style that's taken in presenting the story also helps greatly in making the characters memorable (have I ever mentioned that Hideo Kojima is a fucking genius?). I also own the remake of MGS1 for the GameCube, so I'll have the chance to replay through the entire story in chronological order as soon as I'm done.

As much as I enjoy playing MGS3, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is "The Game" for me right now. I play it whenever I have the chance, and being a Gameboy Advance game, I have chances to play very often. FFT Advance is the main reason I haven't made it that far into MGS3. I've always been a fan of strategy games, and the RPG aspects that they've slapped onto the very solid fighting system make this game an instant gem in my book. All this combined with the fact that I can actually whip the game out, play for 5 minutes, save and go about my real-life business make FFT Advance the prime candidate for "next game I'll actually finish".
